Enough--October 9, 2020

 Enough--October 9, 2020

"We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us--and we ought to lay down our lives for one another. How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help? Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action." [1 John 3:16-18]

This.  This, dear ones.

You are so beloved as to compel God to lay down life itself for you.

And when you have been met by such love, how can we do anything else but answer the world today with love in the face of all the rottenness, meanness, and self-interested crookedness out there?  How can we do anything else but let our love take shape in action, rather than empty talk?

This, dear ones, is enough for a day.  It is more than enough--this is the calling of our lifetimes.

Go.  Love as you have been loved.  Be the love of Jesus for someone today.

Lord Jesus, make us to love like you today.  And let that be enough.
