"Underneath the Official Reason"

In junior high school
science class
they were quick to tell us
The Reason
an animal looks
the way it does:
camouflage or intimidation
or finding mates.
But may underneath
The Official Reason
is a firmer bedrock truth:
You and all creatures
delight a joyful God.
