"With Open Hands"

Over the noise
of voices shouting that
strength is a clenched fist
which only opens when
it is cold and dead,
speaks the calm call
of One who says,
"With open hands,
I give to all.
Come to me
and be satisfied."
And so he teaches us
to open our hands,
as well.
