A Foretaste of the Feast

A church kitchen
crock pots full
tables pushed together
twelve of us
toddler, retiree,
pregnant mom, single professional,
homeless, renter, landlord alike
skin in different colors
faiths with different names,
all hungry.
This is the foretaste of the feast to come.
